Description

Originally three separate 18th century houses the William Cecil Hotel is situated in the picturesque town of Stamford and set within the extensive Burghley Estate with a direct access footpath to walk into the estate s parklands. Built of old Lincolnshire limestone and with one of the original houses facade in the Tudor Revival style the hotel has kept its historic charm both inside and out. The interior furnishings and decor have taken inspiration from the stunning Burghley House regarded by many as the finest Elizabethan House in England. The 27 bedrooms are all uniquely decorated with a mix of original features ornate dark wood furniture sumptuous fabrics and a few contemporary touches. The en-suite bathrooms have power showers and luxury aromatic toiletries some with double sinks and free standing roll top baths. Room facilities include TV Wi-Fi iron and ironing board tea/coffee making facilities hairdryer and complimentary organic vodka for that nightcap. Perfect for weddings the hotel holds a civil ceremony licence for up to 100 guests. Photographers have plenty of scenic spots within the gardens outside the Tudor Revival facade and inside on the ornate staircase. Dogs are allowed to stay for a nominal fee but must be kept on a lead at all times. They are allowed in the pub but not in the restaurant. Free Wi-Fi and onsite parking. Formerly the Lady Anne s the hotel is now a part of the luxury hotel chain Hillbrooke Hotels who renovated and changed the name to William Cecil in 2011.
