tornoees hotel has 38 lovely and recently renovated rooms in light colours with cosy furniture and bath- tv and wireless internet. Most of the rooms have a view over the fjord and the harbour and there is a possibility of putting up an extra bed in most of the rooms. Mini holidays- weekend stays- sunday stays and golf holidays. Flexible party and meeting rooms with up to 200 persons. Kerteminde got its municipal charter in 1413 and for centuries the coat of arms of the town showed a three-masted ship. The find of the old ship ladbyskibet right outside the town proves that ships have sailed here since the viking age and it was exactly this viking ship which was the inspiration for the coat of arms of the new kerteminde municipality. Nowadays kerteminde is the quintessence of funen idyll. Many of the small fishermans houses and the old merchants houses in the centre of the town have been preservedand because of the small size of the town you can reach everything on foot. For instance the beaches of the town- the beach with fishing nets- small skiffs and tarred sheds and also the large marina with thousands of yachting ships. The old seaside hotel tornoees hotel can be traced way back to the 1600s. Then it was a merchants house but in 1862 the builder and innkeeper wentzel tornoee bought the house and in 1865 he obtained a municipal license to run an inn. This was the beginning of tornoees hotel which right since then has been one of the hallmarks of the town. The view over the sea- the town and the harbour is wonderful. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto nyborgvej/route 160 heading to nyborg/langeskov continue to follow route 160 3.0 km 11. Make a u-turn 65 m 12. Turn right at kertemindevej 3.5 km 13. Continue onto odensevej 8.5 km 14. Turn left at odensevej/route 315 750 m 15. Turn right at paludan muellers plads/route 165/route 315 47 m 16. Take the 1st left onto strandgade destination will be on the left 8 m .
