Description

The Hotel was constructed in 1923 and was remodeled in 2015. The Press Hotel, located on the corner of Exchange and Congress Streets in the Old Port District, features 110 thoughtfully appointed luxury guestrooms, including a Penthouse Suite with rooftop access and 360-degree views of the city four private function rooms and is home to UNION, its 65-seat restaurant by Executive Chef, Joshua Berry. Each guestroom has design inspired by a 1920s writers office including a vintage-styled journalist desk, playful newsroom references throughout and floor to ceiling marble bathrooms. An iconic front-desk -letterpress art wall- welcomes guests to its front desk and to its Inkwell lobby bar featuring hand crafted cocktails. The hotel also has an Art Gallery featuring local artists works, open to the public, which also includes a two story signature installation piece of vintage typewriters called the SWARM, to depict the chaos of a newsroom.

Direction to the Property from Airport BOS - Head Southeast, merging onto Airport Rd. Keep left at the fork and follow signs and merge onto I-90 East. Get on 1-95 N to Exit US-1 ALT N/Franklin following signs for S Portland/Downtown Portland. Take Exit 7 for US 1 Alternate/Franklin St. Make a right onto Franklin from the exit. Follow for .5 miles and make a right onto Congress St. Next, turn left onto Exchange St. DHotel is immediately on your left. Direction to the Property from Airport MHT - Head East on Airport Rd. Airport Rd turns slightly right and becomes Brown Ave. Make a slight right onto I-93 S. Follow I-93 S until you reach I-495 N. Follow I-495 N until you merge onto I-95 N. Continue onto I-295 N following signs for S Portland/Downtown Portland. Take Exit 7 for US 1 Alternate/Franklin St. Make a right onto Franklin from the exit. Follow for .5 miles and make a right onto Congress St. Next, turn left onto Exchange St. Hotel is immediately on your left. Direction to the Property from Airport PWM - Head Northwest on Al McKay Ave/Jetport Access Rd toward Jetport Blvd. Turn right onto Congress St. Continue on Congress St for approx 4 miles. Turn right onto Exchange St. Hotel is on your left.
