Reputed to be the oldest purpose built hotel in England The Old Bell has been welcoming guests since 1220. Ivy and wisteria enhance the attractive stone facade of this grade I listed building whilst inside open log fires and period furniture create a historic cosy ambience. The hotel s 31 bedrooms are all individually designed and furnished. The bedrooms are spread between the Main House and the Coach House. Most of the rooms in the Main House have period features and overlook on to the front. A few rooms on the east side overlook Malmesbury Abbey and grounds. Connected to the main house is the Coach House were the bedrooms are predominantly standard rooms and overlook the car park. Six of these rooms are on the ground floor and some have interconnecting doors. All rooms have en-suite bathroom flat screen TV DVD players and hairdryers. Above the standard grade rooms have the addition of a Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge. Some rooms also have the addition of roll top baths separate showers and comfy sofas.An ideal wedding venue the hotel has a civil ceremony licence for its Garden Room which has access to the patio and garden for drinks afterwards. The hotel is also available to hire for exclusive use.During their stay guests can enjoy free membership at a nearby gym s cardio room weights room sauna and Jacuzzi. Or relax in the hotel s cosy lounge with comfy sofas and log fires.Free Wi-Fi and free car parking available. We are delighted to announce that we will be under major redecoration through your booking period.
