Description

The Hotel was constructed in 2000. Designed by the celebrated Parisian architect Jean Nouvel, the hotel is tranquilly and centrally situated next to an adjacent park in the heart of Lucerne.The Culture and Convention Center, the historic quarter with its lake promenade and the train station are all accessible with a 5-minute walk. Completely conceived and designed by Nouvel, the interiors are an architectural marvel and bear Nouvels classic hallmark - the interplay of wood and steel. All of The Hotels vertical panels are made from wood, whilst the horizontal panels are made from stainless steel. The purposefully understated corridor leads guests into the rooms, each with large windows that open up breath-taking views of the city and the park next to the hotel. Each room is unique, with different ceiling or wall projections depicting 30 film scenes from Nouvels own personal background, creating a cinematic experience for guests.

Direction to the Property from Airport BSL - Drive along highway A35 / E25 / E60 towards Basel. Cross the border into Switzerland, drive along A3 passing Muttenz, Pratteln, Rheinfelden. Head towards highway A2/E35 following the signs to Gotthard / Luzern. Close to Lucerne take exit -Luzern Zentrum- /in the tunnel/, follow directions, -Verkehrshaus / Kussnacht-, at -Pilatusplatz- turn left into Pilatusstrasse. Turn right at the traffic light and the -Hotel Astoria- onto -Winkelriedstrasse-. Next left onto -Murbacherstrasse- and Cross Hirschmattstrasse and continue along Murbacherstrasse. The Hotel will be on your right. Direction to the Property from Airport GVA - Exit the airport and take highway A1 towards Lausanne / Gd-Saconnex / Ferney. Continue along A1 and head towards Bern / Neuchatel. Drive passed Bern and follow along the A1 highway. Close to Zofingen, take the exit E35 direction Gotthard / Luzern /Lucerne/. Continue along A2, close to Lucerne take exit -Luzern Zentrum-, follow directions, -Verkehrshaus / Kussnacht-, at -Pilatusplatz- turn left into Pilatusstrasse. Turn right at the traffic light and the -Hotel Astoria- onto -Winkelriedstrasse-. Next left onto -Murbacherstrasse-. Cross Hirschmattstrasse and continue along Murbacherstrasse. The hotel will be on your right. Direction to the Property from Airport MXP - Exit the airport and take highway A8/E62 towards Como - Chiasso, cross the border into Switzerland and continue along highway A2 / E35 towards Lugano - Chiasso. Drive 180 km and take E27 towards Luzern /Lucerne/. Close to Lucerne take exit -Luzern Zentrum- follow directions, -Verkehrshaus / Kussnacht-, at -Pilatusplatz- turn left into Pilatusstrasse.
