Description

originally a restaurant built in the 1950s in a unique position on the cliff overlooking the fishing village of marina grande and just minutes away from the centre of sorrento - la minervetta was later transformed into a small and intimate hotel. Managed for over 30 years by outsiders - the property has finally returned to the cacace family and has been returned to its former glory by marco de luca - an interior decorator and scenographer. Maison la minervetta opened in spring 2005 and it is now a beautiful home which welcomes its guests into a harmonious atmosphere. The interior boasts a large lounge area with coloured sofas - a dining room - handmade turquoise vietri ceramic floors and a splendid kitchen decorated with dark blue and white ceramic tiles which guests are welcome to use. The continental buffet breakfast is laid out every morning in the kitchen - and this opens onto an exclusive furnished terrace with spectacular views - an ideal place for guests to relax. Offering all the comforts of being in a private home - la minervetta is filled with a multitude of books - antique and asian furniture - multicoloured objects from all over the world - flowers - fresh fruit and candles. You can relax in the solarium area- which is peaceful and has a terrific view it is only 20 mt above sea level that you can almost touch the fisherman s boats you can also relax in the jacuzzi with 8 hydromassage spots the 12 mediterranean style rooms are wonderfully light with windows looking down onto marina grande and out to sea and are furnished with pieces from india and bali. Modern comforts have not been forgotten with soundproofing - airconditioning - wifi and internet access - satellite and sky tv - direct dial telephone and a minibar all provided-guests wishing to explore can take the private stairs though the mediterranean garden full of plants down to marina grande - the ancient antique fishermans village with beaches and restaurants.
