Description

There is a very special canton in Switzerland. A canton where the people speak Romansh- Italian and German- A canton where the well-known authoress Johanna Spyri drew inspiration for her famous novel- Heidi- A canton whose railway line from Thusis over the Bernina pass to Tirano has been added to the Unesco World Heritage List- It is the canton of Graubunden. This is the location of Hotel Walther- a fairytale castle that appears out of nowhere. The 100-year hotel tradition is the foundation for the delicate- elegant atmosphere. In this wellness oasis there are architectural pearls like the waterfall and the sauna in an igloo made of massive Andeer granite. Another specialty- their own recipe- marinated Bernina-Bresaola in the restaurant Stuva Bella. Simply magical. The property is closed for business during the year over the following dates 05Oct09- 17Dec09. Zurich-Kloten ZRH-Zurich Airport - A51 towards Zurich- take highway A1 to Chur / Luzern / Zurich-City-Leave the highway when indicated Chur / Luzern / Unterstrasse. Through Zurich City follow green signs for Chur A3. When entering the highway A3 for Chur stay on it for ca. 74km.Bl Sargans you enter the highway A13 in direction of San Bernardino / St. Moritz / Thusis / Bonaduz by keeping straight on. In Thusis-Sud leave the highway A13 for the main road 417 in direction of St. Moritz. In Tiefencastel at the roundabout take first exit towards St. Moritz- main road 3. Stay on this road until Silvaplana. At the roundabout take the third exit towards St. Moritz- main road 27. Stay on this road straight over three roundabouts in direction of Celerina / Pontresina / Samedan. At the fourth roundabout take the first exit in direction of Pontresina / Bernina Pass- main road 29. Stay on this road until the south end of the village Pontresina. Turn left and enter the village.
