The 3 star Hotel Residence des Arts is located in rue Git le Coeur- between the Latin Quarter and Saint Germain des Pres- in the historical heart of Paris. It is an area that has maintained its 17th Century old Paris style and the 6th Arrondissement is a great choice for travelers interested in food- culture and art. The street in which the hotel is situated was named after Gabrielle D Estrees- Duchess of Beaufort and Verneuil and much-enamored Mistress of Henri the IV from 1591 to 1599- who used to live there. As the King was passing by the street one day in his carriage he is reputed to have said -Ici git mon coeur- which translates as- Here lies my heart. This charming Hotel combines the comfort of a typically Parisian apartment block with luxury hotel services. It offers a very personable and warm welcome to all whether on business for a few days or on holiday with friends or family. The central location ensures many of the great sights of Paris like the Notre Dame- Pont Neuf- Louvre and Musee D Orsay are all within very easy walking distance. The hotel is only 20 meters from the banks of the River Seine. It has 11 elegantly furnished rooms and suites. For families there are connecting rooms and kids games are available at the Hotel reception. Cafe Latin is open 7 days a week all day from 11.30am to midnight or 2am at weekends- making it an ideal stop for lunch- dinner- coffee or a drink. It serves French homemade cuisine with classic dishes such as Boeuf Bourguignon- Mussels Marinieres- Foie Gras and Steak au Poivre. The wine range is extensive. Additional Information - Must provide the hotel with the security code on the credit card. Children age 4 and under stay free in the room with parents. Children aged 5 and over will be considered an adult. The hotel reserves the right to cancel without prior notification any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.
