Hotel Hotel is a collaboration of designers -artists -artisans and fantasists - We have 68 rooms -we call them Cosy -Original -Creative and Meandering - The hotel is all about the beauty of domesticity -the curious -the well made and the comfortable - The rooms have taken inspiration from the concept of the Australian shack - Clay rendered walls -natural fibre wallpaper -salvaged oak beds -eucalypt oriented strand board cupboards -windows that open -rain showers -a view onto the fernery or the lake and the gumtrees - Each room is individual -dressed with contemporary artworks -collected objects and reupholstered mid-twentieth century furniture - Our big time love of art is also found at the bar and lounge on the ground floor -kitted out with furniture and art by Australian designers and artists such as Lucy McCrae -Charles Wilson -Adam Goodrum and Anna-Willi Highfield - Hotel Hotel lives in the environmentally driven Nishi building at NewActon -Canberras cultural and artistic precinct - NewActon also houses some of Canberras best restaurants and bars -the Palace Electric cinema -and is forever interesting thanks to the music gigs -art shows -festivals and markets that happen here - Being in the precinct also means that you are just a bike ride away from everything else that is happening in Canberra -and that you are close to the airport when it is home time -Sometimes the good things take a bit longer - This is the case with the restaurant kitchen - Come and stay
