The famous four star Hampshire Hotel Jan van Scorel is beautifully located in one of the most beautiful dune regions of Schoorl along the coast of North Holland. The National Park The Dunes of Schoorl is the highest widest and most beautiful dune region along the Dutch coast. In the immediate surroundings of the picturesque Schoorl there are plenty of possibilities for recreation such as hiking and biking through the dunes and forest of Schoorl or unwind on the beach. In addition the surrounding villages of Groet Bergen aan Zee Bergen Binnen and the city of Alkmaar are easily accessible by bicycle. Schoorl is the perfect place for lovers of peace and nature. There are beautiful hiking trails and bike paths through the dunes and polder landscape and there is car free beach access in Schoorl aan Zee. Also for children there are plenty of things to do such as climbing the highest dune of the Netherlands and many special activities organized by the rangers. During summertime the village offers various festivities such as windsurfing and beach events like Hargen Sail. But also treasure digging for the children is a possibility. Schoorl is situated between the artists village of Bergen. Bergen aan Zee is having a vibrant night life and the village of Groet has a beautiful nature. Cheese town Alkmaar is only a few steps away. The capital Amsterdam as well as Schiphol airport are at 45 km distance only.

Schiphol By car from Amsterdam From the A10 ring take direction Zaandam At the end of the A8 you take a right to Alkmaar N8 At exit A9 follow Alkmaar right At the roundabout Alkmaar direction Den Helder N9 In Schoorldam take the exit to the right direction Schoorl After 400 meters at the roundabout turn right towards Schoorl After 800 meters just before the center direction Groet and Camperduin Now you are on the Sportlaan. After an S turn this road becomes Heereweg After 400 meters you will see Hampshire Hotels Jan van Scorel on your left.

Alkmaar So beautiful I had never expected is a remark often made by guests who visit Alkmaar for the first time. With the past as a setting the town has a lot of modern shops with a wide range of various products and brands.
