The Hotel was constructed in 2004 and was remodeled in 2008. the best western gran plaza is located on hidalgo street, two blocks away from the zocalo, allowing easy access to the most important tourist attractions such as the flag museum, san francisco church, the monument and the jewelry center. The peaceful iguala city and the nice weather around 98-degrees fahrenheit make our city the ideal place to visit all year round. You can find other attractions just 15 minutes from best western gran plaza, such as the lagoon of tuxpan and the biggest flag in mexico at 373.36 square feet, which offers you a beautiful panoramic view from all iguala. The san francisco church, built in the 19th century and its surrounding tamarindo trees, and for that iguala is also called, la ciudad tamarindera, tamarindo city, on the lagoon on tuxpan, characterized for its singular beauty. Igualas local artisans manufacture gold and silver jewelry. The city of iguala is called the birth place of the modern flag. Each year a flag fair is held in iguala. This fair is one of the most important festivities to the people of iguala. Its celebrated with a float parade, fireworks and handicrafts exhibitions in late february. During the fair you can enjoy the traditional mexican food from the state of guerrero.
